Chuck Hosier is a South Jersey native now living in Haddonfield where he keeps his studio. A self-taught abstract painter for more than 20 years, his work has been included in many exhibitions throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as several national publications. He primarily works on canvas or wood panel using oils, acrylics, spray paint, and mixed media.
"Abstract painting, for me, is about expressing emotion. The satisfaction I find in the
physical act of painting is what drives me from canvas to canvas. The end result whether it be good or bad is what it is; a painting, a sculpture, a mess, or all of the above. Living inside of the creative moment, feeling, smelling, wearing the medium and working out expressive urges are the reasons I began and continue to paint."
